UNDERTAKING VISUAL RESEARCH
Undertaking visual research involves systematically exploring and analyzing visual elements to understand a particular subject or context better. This process can encompass a wide range of activities, from studying images, videos, and artworks to examining spatial layouts and design. The goal is to identify patterns, themes, and insights that provide a deeper understanding of the visual world. Researchers often use methods like content analysis, semiotics, and ethnography to gather and interpret data. The findings from visual research can inform decisions in design, marketing, social sciences, and other fields, offering valuable perspectives on how visuals shape human experiences
Discovering Social Issues
Kerala is renowned for its stunning landscapes, from serene backwaters to lush forests, but beneath this beauty lies a host of social challenges. Healthcare is not as accessible as it should be, with remote areas struggling for basic medical services. Education, often touted as one of Kerala's strengths, still suffers from disparities, with rural regions lacking resources and modern infrastructure.
Youth unemployment is a growing concern, leading many young people to migrate in search of better opportunities. This migration trend not only depletes local talent but also places stress on families left behind. Additionally, Kerala's aging population brings new pressures, including the need for better elderly care and the strain it puts on family relationships.
Environmental issues, such as deforestation and pollution, are rising due to development pressures and inadequate regulation. Social problems like alcohol misuse and drug abuse further compound the challenges. Despite Kerala's progressive outlook, gender inequality remains, with women facing discrimination in both the workplace and at home.
Caste discrimination, although often less overt, continues to shape social interactions and opportunities. Political conflicts create divisiveness that hinders collective progress. In light of these complex issues, a collaborative effort from government, local communities, and social organizations is essential to ensure equal opportunities and a higher quality of life for everyone in Kerala.

After talking with some employees, I learned that they are experiencing stress and work pressure from various sources. Some mentioned that they feel pressure from their higher-ups, while others are stressed about meeting deadlines. A few talked about the strain caused by low salaries and financial challenges. To better understand the life and stress levels of employees, I visited Infopark in Kochi. There, many people shared their stories with me. Most of them revealed that they aren't really happy in their jobs, but they continue to work to support their families and meet their financial needs. Despite the stress, some of them opened up about how they manage and overcome these issues. It was eye-opening to hear about the different ways they cope and the resilience they show in the face of these challenges
Visual Storytelling
Comics, with their blend of pictures and words, have a unique charm that captures people's attention and communicates complex ideas in a simple and engaging way. They create a visual language that transcends cultural and age boundaries, making them accessible to a wide range of readers. In comics, the artwork and text work in tandem to tell a story, with each panel contributing to the narrative's flow.
Through comics, characters come alive, allowing readers to connect with them on a personal level. We can experience their emotions, whether it's the thrill of adventure, the warmth of friendship, or the intensity of conflict. Comics can be as diverse as their readers, covering everything from superhero sagas to the quiet moments of everyday life. This versatility means they can make us laugh, cry, or feel a surge of excitement, sometimes all within a single storyline.
The key to comics is how they balance visuals and words to create a seamless storytelling experience. Every drawing, every line of dialogue, and every sound effect plays a crucial role in conveying the story's tone and pace. Whether it's a high-stakes battle between heroes and villains or a heartfelt conversation between friends, comics can evoke strong emotions and spark the imagination.
Comics are a fantastic way to explore new ideas and immerse yourself in different worlds. Even for those just beginning to read, comics offer an inviting gateway into storytelling. They encourage curiosity and creativity, allowing readers to dive into stories that resonate with them. Comics are not just entertainment—they are a powerful medium for expression, capable of inspiring and connecting with people from all walks of life.

Public Test Prep
We carried out a public survey to understand the difficulties families encounter because of their workloads. We started with a simple list of questions and finalized six key ones. We wrote these questions on large sheets of paper and posted them on a wall, encouraging people to share their stories and experiences with us.
Phalanstery
We carefully planned out all the topics and questions for our social experiment. After that, we consulted with the faculty to get her feedback, and then we started researching which questions would work best. We gathered suggestions from our team and finalized a list of six questions.
Next, we thought about how to present these questions to the public for the social experiment. We decided to write each question on a separate piece of chart paper using colorful sketch pens. We then posted these on the walls of the campus common hall, with a blank chart paper underneath each one for people to write their answers.
Alongside these questions, we also displayed other chart papers with related information, including the original hashtags and additional questions. This setup was ready the day before the experiment.
On the following morning, we started collecting responses from people, and many of them shared stories about the work pressure their parents or relatives faced. The participation was excellent, and everyone seemed engaged. This feedback gave us valuable data to continue our research.

INFOPARK is where most of the IT companies are based, making it an ideal spot for the installation we're planning. By setting it up here, we can create a strong impression that aligns with our concept. The installation will reflect the various stresses and emotions that employees often experience
CSEZ (Cochin Special Economic Zone)
Cochin Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) in Kakkanad is a bustling area with around 150 businesses specializing in electronic hardware, IT, ITES, and agro-food processing. It employs roughly 15,000 people. It's an ideal spot for setting up our project.
Sutherland
Sutherland is a company that provides customer service support for many other international businesses. They employ a large workforce and often deal with high-stress situations, which makes it an ideal place to introduce our concept
MY EVISAGE
COLLECTIVE IMAGINATION
My team and I delved into various concepts for photo installations, brainstorming a range of unique ideas. We discussed different methods for bringing these installations to life, evaluating the pros and cons of each approach to identify the most promising ones.
After thorough deliberation, we consulted with our faculty to ensure our ideas aligned with best practices and any necessary guidelines. With their guidance, we refined our list of potential installations and chose a few to pursue, confident that they offered the best blend of creativity and feasibility.

As we set up our mockup display at the college event, it didn't take long for a crowd of students to gather. The buzz in the air was palpable, and their curiosity was instantly drawn to our creations. You could see the spark in their eyes as they took in the sight of our innovative designs, wondering what lay behind the shapes and colors.
Students approached us with a mix of excitement and wonder, their voices filled with questions about our work. "What does this do?" "How did you make it?" "What's the story behind it?" Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it was clear they were eager to dive into the concepts and ideas we were presenting.
The best part was their hands-on approach. They didn't just stand around looking; they engaged with the mockups, feeling the textures, testing the functionalities, and exploring every little detail. It was as if they were unlocking a new world, piece by piece, with each new discovery leading to more questions and a deeper level of understanding.
We responded to their questions with just as much excitement, explaining the inspiration for our designs, the technology behind them, and the potential impact they could have in real-world settings. As we spoke, you could see the gears turning in their heads—ideas forming, connections being made, and a sense of possibility taking hold.
The conversations that followed were dynamic and thought-provoking. Our peers didn't just listen passively; they shared their own ideas, challenged our assumptions, and proposed alternative uses for our mockups. It felt like we were all collaborators in a grand experiment, exploring the boundaries of creativity and technology together.
It was clear that our display wasn't just a static exhibit—it was a living, breathing space for dialogue and innovation. The energy in the room was electrifying, with people bouncing from one mockup to the next, eager to learn and share. It was a reminder of why we create in the first place—to inspire, to question, and to push the limits of what's possible.
Seeing the genuine interest and enthusiasm from our fellow students was incredibly rewarding. It reinforced our commitment to keep dreaming big, to keep experimenting, and to keep sharing our passion for design and technology. By the end of the event, we knew that we weren't just showcasing our work—we were part of a community of thinkers and makers, all driven by the same curiosity and creativity that had drawn the crowd to our display in the first place.
